Galerie Mourlot is pleased to announce After Midnight, Renaud Charrin's first solo exhibition.
Born
in Lyon, France, Renaud Charrin considers the past 20 years in New York
City as the life of his artistic career. He began his American tale
as a banker, but quickly learned that his calling was in the arts. At
Parsons School of Design he studied Graphic Design and honed his visual
style and creative point of view.
Renaud
has commissioned design work for reputable clients including Alain
Ducasse, for Essex House, Daniel Boulud and Jérôme Bocuse for the Bocuse
D’Or USA. As a graphic designer, Renaud has built successful brand
identities through his company, 099 Factory, for such clients as Buddha
Bar, Hello Pasta, Lyon Restaurant and Rosé Los Angeles.
In
contrast to the controlled environment in which he creates graphic
solutions for his clients, painting allows Renaud to express himself
freely and let his personal experiences and the exhilarating New York
City environment inspire him to create.
From the Cobblestones of the Meatpacking District to Dueling Figures,
his work transcends the power of the city as well as an impulsive need
to share his personal experience through and array of mediums.
He
has exhibited his graphic design work at the Brooklyn Transportation
Museum as a student at Parsons and recently was selected for the First
Parsons Alumni Exhibition ’11.
Exhibition on show from November 17 - January 14
